Meiling

‘Meiling’ (C. mollissima) was selected from seed imported by Peter Liu from south central China, the seedlot of ‘Crane’ and ‘Nanking’. ‘Meiling’ was also introduced commercially by the USDA in 1949. In Missouri, nut size varies from small to medium. The nut has an unusual flavor that is better roasted than raw (Miller, 2003; Nave, 1998).
